Pre-Owned Japanese Yamaha U1 And U3 Pianos Available

Pre-Owned Japanese Yamaha U1 And U3 Pianos AvailablePre-Owned Japanese Yamaha U1 And U3 Pianos Available
Through one of Promenade Music's international contacts, we are now supplying high quality ex-demo and second hand U1 and U3 pianos made in Japan by Yamaha, the World's largest piano company.

PLEASE NOTE:  Price correct as of July 2011 - call David on 01524 410202 for current price and availability.   A pre-owned Japanese Yamaha U1 or U3 piano makes an excellent investment for the customer because of the high quality materials used, excellent craftsmanship, reliability, life expectancy and reputation. These pianos are amongst the best selling acoustic pianos in the World and a second hand Yamaha U1 or U3 offers an extremely good opportunity for someone to own a high quality piano at less than half the price of a new one.

"Sourcing a quality second hand piano under thirty years old has become increasingly more difficult locally in the last fifteen years because fewer new pianos were sold in the 70's and 80's" says Promenade Music's David Wood, "I have had a long association with senior Yamaha personnel both here in the UK and in Japan and when the opportunity arose for Promenade Music to import quality Yamaha U1 and U3 models direct from private homes in Japan and be able to sell them for up to less than half the price of a similar new model it didn't need much thinking about".

All used Japanese pianos are not of the same quality as a Yamaha and not all Yamaha's are of the same quality as the U1 and U3. Please do not confuse the Japanese Yamaha U1 and U3's that we are sell with lower priced, inferior Yamaha pianos made in places like China. Our imports are all genuine Yamaha pianos made in Japan for the most demanding professional pianists.

So what does Yamaha say about their U series pianos?
"The top-of-the-line U Series, however, sets a whole new standard for elegance and excellence, incorporating numerous refinements as well as concepts adapted from Yamaha grand pianos".
"Designed for the experienced pianist and professional musician. Upright pianos with outstanding tone, touch and durability."
"A perennial favourite among discerning pianists, the Yamaha U1 offers outstanding musical performance, setting the standards by which many other upright pianos are measured".
"An expansive soundboard and acoustic chamber give the 131 cm U3S extended power and projection, with the peerless tonal and expressive control of the legendary Yamaha action".

Japanese manufacturing quality standards are recognised worldwide by both engineers and professional musicians and because of this, Yamaha are the best selling acoustic pianos in the world and are so popular that they are often very difficult to find on the second hand market. As well as having a known reputable dealer source for Yamaha U1 and Yamaha U3's in Japan (not to mention the fact that they're made there) the Japanese have the highest ownership of pianos in the world.

"It was very important for us to be able to souse privately owned second hand pianos" added David, "Unfortunately, like most industries there are cowboys, even in Japan. Over the years we've been offered cheap Yamaha pianos direct from Japanese export companies who go round music schools and institutions buying up all the pianos they can. I've seen lots of these pianos over the years and some of them are just un-saleable. I know that some of these pianos eventually get sold to in-experienced dealers who have a couple of years experience trading or even worse dealers who have no intension of honouring guarantees and just want to make a quick buck. We're only interested in A+ pianos. We have fully qualified piano technicians on hand and only want to sell pianos that can be guaranteed, cheapest is definitely not the best option when it comes to a used Japanese Yamaha U series, that's for sure".

(Editor's note. David's referral to A+ pianos is regarding Japanese export companies who grade the condition of their pianos as A+, A, B or C taking the general age and condition in to concern. In our opinion, 'B' and 'C' graded pianos which can cost up to 40% less than the A+ pianos should be avoided at any cost).

So finally. As you look around, you'll obviously find variations for the prices of used Japanese Yamaha U1's and U3's. Although some dealers will import ex institution 'C' grade pianos (and sell them at lower prices) they put them straight up for sale without preparing or doing any work to them while other dealers, like ourselves, will import A+ pianos and put them through the workshop. Most second hand pianos will have a few minor marks on the case work depending its age but the critical part is what you can't see (the action, strings, pins, pin block, frame, sound-board etc).

If you want to buy a privately owned A+ Japanese Yamaha U1 or Yamaha U3 from a genuinely reputable original source at a competitive price and with a five year guarantee, contact Promenade Music and speak to David Wood on 01524 410202.
