Concertinas

The Concertina is a small free reed instrument. The Anglo System is our most popular seller and is used for Morris dance, Irish music and to accompany songs and shanties. Each button produces a different note on the push and pull (so there are two notes per button). High notes are on the right-hand, low on the left, and you can play a tune with the right hand and vamp chords with the left ….. The English System is fully chromatic system where each button plays the same note on both push and pull. The scale comes by alternating notes from each end of the instrument, which makes it easy to play fast runs. This system tends to suit players who read music as the buttons line up exactly with written music with the stave lines on the left hand and spaces on the right  … Call 01524 410202 or email [email protected] for more information … Back to Folk & World Department.
