Fretless Basses

Fretless basses allow the player to slide effortlessly between notes creating a distinctive sound popularised by many jazz players. The concept of the fretless has been heavily popularised by the late, great Jaco Pastorius who once referred to the frets as "speed bumps". The fretless is slightly harder to play than a standard bass due to how accurate your fretting must be to make sure you remain in tune but it won't take long to get used to this.
