Studio Monitors

Good monitoring is absolutely essential to any studio set up. Studio monitors are designed to give the highest quality sound possible, even at their maximum volumes. They also don't include any of the additional EQ-ing often provided by Hi-Fi systems, which is perfect for mixing as it allows you to hear the most authentic reproduction of your mixes possible. Usually a studio will use two sets of monitors; one large and one small which allows the producer to listen to how the sound will be reproduced through different sized outputs; after all, a mix will be played on a different speaker system with each different listener!
