Promenade Music's parcel delivery van is in Halifax, Queensbury, Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge, Mixenden, Holmfield, Ovenden, Wheatley, Northowram, Hipperholm, Shibden, Southowram, Siddle (etc) daily and our two man delivery team for pianos, organs etc are in the area twice a week.

We have many customers in the Halifax area and our music shop is less than 80 miles from Halifax which will take about an hour and a half by car.

Music Organisations Around Halifax
Some of the notable music organisations in the Halifax area have included:

Square Chapel
As one of the leading providers of performing arts in Calderdale, Square Chapel offers a platform for new and exciting work across art forms, and is a vibrant centre for arts participation across communities and generations. Now in its twenty fifth year, and with audiences and visitors reaching over 40,000 people every year, Square Chapel has outgrown its current facilities and is embarking on an ambitious plan to add a contemporary extension to the existing building, leading up to the Piece Hall. The new building will house a new performance space and technical facilities, while visitor facilities will be upgraded to accommodate increased audiences, and provide an improved environment for all users.

Orchestra of Square Chapel
Orchestra of Square Chapel is the resident orchestra at Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, Halifax. A mixture of professional, semi-professional and gifted amateur players, the orchestra has a reputation for innovative programming. Concerts feature the very best music for chamber orchestra and offer an alternative musical palette to other local orchestras. Orchestra of Square Chapel is conducted by Rob Guy.  

Halifax Symphony Orchestra
The Halifax Symphony Orchestra is one of the UK’s oldest non-professional orchestras and has performed in over 130 concert seasons.Members come from all walks of life from within and around Calderdale and beyond, and share a passion for playing together. The players are variously teachers, semi-professionals, and retired professionals along with a positive group of dedicated amateurs.

Halifax Minster
Halifax Minster has a long tradition of music making and includes choirs, the Harrison Organ, and an ever expanding concert programme. The Director of Music is Mr Christopher Brown, in a joint appointment with the Halifax Academy, where Chris is Head of Performance. He is supported by the Sub-Organist Graham Gribbin and Organist Emeritus Philip Tordoff.

The Minster Choir
The Minster Choir sings every Sunday during term time. Juniors rehearse on a Tuesday, whilst adults rehearse on a Thursday, both in the Song School of the Minster. The Choir regularly performs both for television and radio, and are always looking for new members.

The Minster Chamber Choir
The Minster Chamber Choir is for experienced singers who sing occasional services, and some concerts. The standard is high, and an ability to read music fast essential. Joint occasions with the Minster Choir and Brass make for an exciting performance, especially around Christmas and the Halifax Festival. New members are always welcome.

Organ Recitals
The Friends of the Music organise weekly Organ recitals which take place each Thursday. Currently housing two organs from the Early English Organ Project, which contain pieces of pre reformation organs within them. They are built in the style that would have been found in 1525.
