Fender have just released a new range of old guitars, with modern features. The Duo Sonic and Mustang designs (from 1956 and 1964 respectively) are less famous than say, the Telecaster or Stratocaster, and maybe less revered than the Jaguar and Jazzmaster, but are nevertheless a super-cool and iconic Fender design.

These new guitars, plus a variant of the Mustang Bass have great retro cool, but also some newer appointments. The Mustang does away with the tremolo and instead has a Strat-style hard tail - much more stable tuning-wise. The Mustang 90 also comes fitted with P90 pickups for that extra bite and growl. The Mustangs also feature the larger so-called 70's headstock (even though it actually first appeared in the 60's). The Duo Sonic have the smaller headstock variant, and one version of the Duo Sonic comes with an HS pickup configuration.
