Lancaster 2011 Hallelujah Chorus flashmob DVD

On 26 November 2011, five hundred singers converged on Market Gate Shopping Centre, Lancaster, to sing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus to unsuspecting shoppers. 

Inspired by similar events elsewhere, nearly thirty local choirs joined forces for the first time in Lancaster’s history.

Sung to a backing track recorded by local musicians, it was a joyful, glorious, random act of culture for an all-too-brief moment.

Enjoy the action, the reaction, and a piece of local history in the making, on this very brief but never-to-be-repeated DVD.

All proceeds of the sale of this dvd go to St John's Hospice.
