The piano sound is sampled from the Yamaha Full Concert Grand Piano "CFIIIS", which has won high praise at the world's most famous concert halls and music competitions. The best piano was selected, and an experienced technician prepared it to the highest standards. Sampling is carefully performed over a long duration, from the start of the sound until fadeout, to reproduce a natural sound and attenuation that feels much like an acoustic piano.
In addition, focus is placed on the change in timbre due to the strength or weakness of the key strike that is the characteristic of a piano. The Yamaha development team worked together with pianists in thorough pursuit of the optimum touch and timbre combination.

A new acoustic system for clearer sound

The "Tone Escape" outlet at the back of the keyboard has been enlarged. to give clearer sound.
128 note polyphony

Thanks to Yamaha's own technology, unnatural sound cut-off is reduced even when the pedal is pressed and mutiple notes are overlaid, so that a performance with full presence can still be achieved.
Half-pedal response that widens the range of expression

Yamaha also focuses on the expressive power of pedaling. Three stable pedals are provided; damper pedal , soft pedal,and sostenuto pedal. The damper pedal offers a half-pedal response and can handle micro-adjustments of strength, depending on how hard the pedal is pressed.
Ten versatile voices

In addition to Grand Piano, the instrument offers a variety of instrument sounds including Electric Piano, Organ and Harpsichord.
Graded Hammer (GH) Keyboard for a natural playing feel

Yamaha has used its experience in acoustic piano manufacture to create a weighted keyboard that offers a natural playing feel and response. For added realsim, the lower register of the keyboard is slightly heavier with the touch becoming lighter higher up the keyboard.

The Yamaha volume control allows for particularly detailed adjustment at low volume levels. When practicing at home where playing at high volume may not be possible, you can set the optimum sound volume easily. Naturally, the sound volume can be raised to give an impressive piano performance.
