Fender Custom Shop 52 Telecaster Nos Nocaster Blonde

Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster, New Old Stock, Nocaster Blonde, Birdseye AA Maple Neck

Back in the early 1950s, solid-bodied electric guitars were breaking onto the music scene in a big way, and in 1952 the now-famous Fender Telecaster was considered to be a "new-fangled" device, that many people thought would never catch on.

Thankfully it caught on in a big way, and now, thanks to the Fender Custom shop, you can own a 1952 Fender Telecaster in a Nocaster Blonde finish.  This incredible guitar has not only been accurately recreated to the design specs of the day, but has been finished in a way to make the instrument look as though it was genuinely from the era and has been well cared for over the decades!
The look, feel and sound of a vintage early 50's Tele

Featuring a lightweight, two-piece ash body with a carefully aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this guitar has the look and feel of a vintage guitar that's been well-used, but well looked after over the years.

New Old Stock

The term "New Old Stock" refers to the lack of relic ageing on this guitar.  When you buy this instrument, what you get is a faithful recreation of a 1952 Telecaster that could have been snatched from the production line and transported directly to you via a time machine!

"C" Shaped Neck Profile

Whilst the original 50's Telecasters sported a thicker "U" neck profile, this particular guitar has been fitted with a more comfortable 60's style "C" shaped neck.  The shape of this neck is suitably comfortable for all play-styles, and offers a much relaxing playing experience with less physical stress to your hands than the more traditional shape.

50's Style Pickups

Specially designed by the Fender Custom Shop, both the neck and bridge pickups on this Telecaster are built to offer the same tonal characteristics of an authentic "Nocaster" from 1951 (Nocaster being the name given at the time to what later became the Telecaster).  The sound of a vintage Telecaster/Nocaster is instantly recognisable to any who have heard it, with that famous "Tele Twang", and the almost-creamy sounding neck pickup tones you can achieve, it's quite astonishing to think that Leo Fender managed to get things so perfect the first time around.

What's a Nocaster?

You may have seen the term Nocaster mentioned several times on this product so far, so for those of you wondering what a Nocaster is, read on.  When the guitar that eventually became known as a Telecaster was first released in 1950, it was called the Broadcaster.  However, due to complaints for a rival instrument company that they also had a Broadcaster product, the name was scrapped and whilst Fender decided what to call this wonderful instrument, they were dubbed "Nocasters", right up until the summer of 1951, when Telecaster became the final name.

Period Correct Case

This guitar comes complete with a hard shell case that is designed specifically for this guitar type.  Constructed to keep your guitar safe from harm, the case looks authentic to the time period, both inside and out, and comes complete with a lock and key for that extra peace of mind.

Whilst we strive to ensure our customer's satisfaction in acquiring exactly what they want here at PMT, guitars like this one can be a rarity, so if you have any queries as to the instrument's availability, or you'd like to know more about which Fender Custom Shop models are available at your local PMT store, then feel free to contact us directly!
