The 204MS features a rich vibrant sound with excellent tonal projection. Yamaha R&D conducted extensive field tests with leading bands, and has redesigned the bracing for a more open ‘free-blowing’ feel. The overall balance has also been changed making it more comfortable to hold and play, while the slide configuration has been reworked improving both intonation and tone qualities.

The first and third valve slide lengths have been modified to improve the overall intonation and tonal coloring
