Circa 1961-63

Back in the early 60s, there was almost no chance of getting hold of a Fender electric guitar in Britain.

Instead, players got Hofners or Selmer-imported versions of things like Futurama and Colorama if they wanted a solid-body electric.

Hofner supplied Selmer these guitars for the British market between 1953 and 1971 - covering the golden age of rock n roll.

With a single pick-up - a kind of P90-looking thing - in the neck position, this was a no frills guitar.

Considering it's coming up for 60, this is in pretty good condition - it's seen plenty of action and has signs of it's age, but it's still playable.

More than that though, it's a bit of electric guitar history.

It looks really cool and would look good on the wall or in a photo-shoot if nothing else!
