The Accordion is a traditional German instrument that dates back to the early 18th century. Although having made design modifications over the years modern accordions follow the same playing principal and design/manufacturing techniques of their ancestors.
Incorporating 2 or more different tones (controlled by switches) to create a versatile wind instrument that is played by expanding and contracting the central corrugated section to allow a flow of air to filter through the reeds to create notes. With the left hand coordinating the bass/chord section which is set out in the form of buttons and the right hand coordinating the melody section which is played on the keyboard.
