At the heart of the E1 Air are two expressive concert grand piano voices, each sampled from renowned Italian instruments. One offers a bright, balanced tone that suits a wide variety of musical styles, from classical and jazz to pop and everyday practice. The other is a newly sampled full concert grand, rich in natural ambience and capable of deep emotional expression. Whether you’re performing delicate pieces or preparing for a stage recital, it responds beautifully across the entire dynamic range.

The E1 Air features Korg’s Real Weighted Hammer Action 3 (RH3) keyboard, offering a playing experience that mirrors the feel of a grand piano. The key weight is graded, with a heavier touch in the bass and a lighter feel in the treble, just like an acoustic instrument. Sensitive to fast passages and dynamic playing, RH3 provides exceptional control and nuance. Furthermore, five selectable touch curves let you tailor the response to your own playing style.

The E1 Air delivers an authentic acoustic piano experience through a combination of expressive features and refined design. Damper resonance recreates the sympathetic string vibrations that occur when the damper pedal is pressed, adding a natural sense of depth and realism to your sound. Key-off simulation further enhances the playing experience by reproducing the soft mechanical noise of key release, lending every performance a more tactile, lifelike feel.

Full pedal control

A full three-pedal system is included, with damper, soft, and sostenuto functions. Both the damper and soft pedals support half-pedalling, allowing for nuanced dynamic control and expressive phrasing. The positioning and spacing of the pedals have been carefully considered to ensure a comfortable, natural feel underfoot, supporting confident playing across a wide range of musical styles.

E1 Air includes 30 high-quality instrument sounds such as electric pianos, organs, clavinet, vibraphone, strings, and acoustic guitar. Every sound is expressive and performance-ready, with studio-grade effects including brilliance, reverb, and chorus. These effects are automatically matched to each preset, so you can simply choose a sound and play.

The E1 Air also comes bundled with powerful apps to support creativity and music production. Korg Module and Korg Gadget 2 Le for iOS provide access to high-quality sounds and a mobile music production environment.

A powerful front-facing speaker system projects sound clearly and directly, maintaining clarity even when the piano is positioned close to a wall. The internal cabinet structure is tightly sealed and acoustically optimised, helping control unwanted resonance and improving clarity across the frequency range.

Headphones, Bluetooth, and more

Stream audio wirelessly from your phone or tablet via Bluetooth and play along with your favourite songs or backing tracks. The E1 Air also supports USB MIDI and audio, allowing you to record into your computer, use it as a MIDI controller, or play sound from your device directly through the internal speakers. All you need is a standard USB cable, and for iOS devices, a Lightning to USB adapter if required.

When using headphones, the Stereo Sound Optimizer creates a more realistic and spatial listening experience. This helps retain the natural feel of playing an acoustic instrument, even during extended practice sessions. The E1 Air includes a two-track recorder that lets you capture performances on the spot. You can record each hand separately, adjust playback tempo, and store up to 99 songs for review or composition. There are 40 built-in piano songs with tempo adjustment, separate left and right-hand playback, and A-B loop functionality to help you focus on challenging passages. Split Mode assigns different sounds to each hand, Layer Mode lets you combine two sounds for a fuller tone, and Partner Mode divides the keyboard into two equal zones with their own damper pedals, making it ideal for lessons or duets. The E1 Air also includes a built-in metronome, offering flexible timing support with control over tempo, time signature, accents, sound, and volume.
