Spector Guitars was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1976 by Stuart Spector and Alan Charney, both of whom were members of the Brooklyn Woodworkers Co-op that shared space in an old factory building (Ned Steinberger was also a member). It was there that Stuart learned machine woodworking from Billy Thomas, a friend and founder of the co-op. Business started in 1976.
The Spector Rebop 5MM not only looks amazing with a quilt maple top, but also sounds the business with powerful passive EMG pickups and the Spector TonePump on-board preamp to give you all the sounds that a modern bassist would need. Especially with that thundering low 5th string.
Made in the Czech Republic with top quality European woods this bass is contoured to feel comfortable against your body for any playing situation. And the Spector deep-socket neck will let you tackle any style of music with ease.
Our Europe Series Bolt-On neck ReBop5 models all feature the fully carved Original NS-Body Design, the Original SPECTOR Deep-Socket Neck, and our 9-volt TonePump Tone-Control Circuit (designed specifically for us using specs by Stuart Spector and PJ Rubal).
Add EMG pickups, and the highest quality European Tone-Woods and you have an incredibly well-designed and built professional-quality instrument at a very reasonable price.
