Yes, it’s 25 Years Anniversary of Mint Royale’s “Don’t Falter” featuring Lauren Laverne!
Groucho Marx said “Time flies like and arrow, fruit flies like a banana”!
Well, time does indeed fly – it really is 25 years since this little gem came out. And there are bananas in the video, albeit, non-flying ones.
Mint Royale at that time was Neil Claxton and Chris Baker and “Don’t Falter” was a top 20 hit, peaking at number 15. Before the single, Lauren Laverne was best-known for fronting indie pop band Kenickie, and has since had an incredibly successful career as a presenter on radio and TV.
Mint Royale’s record label is Faith & Hope Records, of which our very own David Wood is co-owner along with Neil Claxton and Doug D’arcy.
Remarkably, we’ve still got a few copies left of the orignal release – on 12” vinyl, CD single and (incredibly) cassette single!
