Resonator Guitars
Resonator Guitars come in either Round-neck (generally played in the normal guitar position) or Square-neck (generally played horizontally on a table or across the lap). The round-neck is normally fretted like a standard guitar and often played with a 'slide' or 'bottle' where the square-neck is built with a high action (so the frets are not used) and is played with a metal slide. There are many tunings for resonators including standard E,A,D,G,B,E and an open G (D,G,D,G,B,D or GBDGBD) or open D (D,A,D,F#,A,D) tuning which are used by some bluegrass players. Lap Steels, Hawaiian and the Weissenborn (which is a kind of cross between a guitar and a zither) are usually played with a steel and held horizontally on the lap or in front of the player with a strap… To Contact Us – Call 01524 410202 or email [email protected] for more information … Go Back to Resonator Guitars & Lap Steels.
