Bagpipes & Chanters

We sell the very popular traditional Scottish Great Highland Bagpipes – which are used in marching bands – with African Blackwood Drones (video) or Delrin Synthetic Drones (video). We also sell Scottish Practice Pipes (video) which are perfect for a beginner or the experienced piper who wants to practice at home without annoying the neighbours and Irish (Uilleann) Practice Pipes (video) which are great for players starting out in Irish uilleann piping. Last but not least are the Scottish Smallpipes Mouthblown aka Border Pipes in A (video). These have similar fingering to the Scottish Highland Bagpipes but can play some extra notes through the use of alternate fingering. Players often have Practice Chanters too. The practice chanter has a narrower bore than a pipe chanter. It's an excellent way for a beginner to learn tunes, as they can concentrate on the notes without having to worry about keeping the bag full and steady pressure going.
