This 18" x 4" Professional Series Bodhran features a quality conscious, handmade construction.
Both the outer drum shell and inner ring are of hand crafted multilayered hardwood beautifully styled in a wide range of colors and finishes.
This Bodhran's 4" deep by 1/4" thick hardwood shell, and inner ring equipped with six tuning lugs, offers the player a full range of sound and versatility.
The tuning lugs and hardware are machined from aircraft grade metals and coated in a black powder finish that is rust resistant and built to last generations of use. The drum heads are made of hand finished goatskin that has been chemically treated making the skins less susceptible to tear-away. These specially treated heads never need oiling or a break-in period. Skins fabricated by the Bridget Drum Company do not need to be deadened by black tape in attempts to avoid overtones found in most other makers drums; they are literally playable right out of the box! Additionally, Bridget carefully places the spine of the skin in the middle of the drum, allowing a more uniform sound.
