“I first picked up a Burns guitar when I was 14 years old. I noticed a Marquee in a local shop and visited it for weeks before I could save up enough money to buy it, ever since that moment there hasn’t been many days that my trusty Marquee hasn’t been played. It still travels the world with me to this day and takes pride of place in my guitar collection amongst it’s big brother the Marvin. They are both very trusty live guitars.

I’ve found that both the Marvin and Marquee are built to a very high standard especially when compared to other similarly price guitars. I’ve bashed my Burns guitars around for years and the intonation is still second to none.

I play a lot of stuff higher up the neck so having a guitar that has great intonation/action like a Marvin is really important for me.

Also the versatility in tone is amazing between all five pickup settings. I have used Burns guitars for almost every song Wild Beasts have recorded and consider it part of the bands sound.

I also usually go through two Roland JC120 amps in stereo, twinned with stereo reverbs, the sound is amazing especially in the studio. Other times I plug straight into a Vox AC30 and the result is timeless.
