UK Specification for Content Celeste 236 OrganOur ‘Standard UK Specification’ Content organs are a higher specification than the ‘Standard European Specification’ organs. The organs supplied in the UK are aimed at the UK market and include – as standard – the likes of a Radiating Concave Pedalboard [not straight parallel flat pedalboards like in Europe], Illuminated music rack, Thumb Piston (for up/down of presets) and a choice of seven stain console finishes. If budget is a restriction, we can order the lower ‘Standard European Specification’ organs at a lower cost with the straight parallel flat pedalboard etc. These are available as standard in Light Oak (CBM121) and Medium Dark Oak (CBM161) stains.

Solid Wood Console with Full Illumination, Bench (with Music Storage) & Locking Roll Top

Our thoughts…. “Content’s beautiful handmade consoles feature the extensive use of solid wood with an illuminated pedalboard and a matching bench with music storage. Unlike the standard European specification, UK customers also get the advantage of an illuminated music rack so you can see your music more clearly”.

Choice of 7 Stain Console Finishes

Our thoughts…. “Unlike the standard European specification, we offer seven stain finishes in the UK as standard. The Light Oak Stain (CBM121) and Medium Dark Oak Stain (CBM161) are the two consistently best selling finishes in the UK market. These should be considered – due to market demand and resale value – if you think you will possibly want to part exchange – or sell – the organ in the future. After saying that, we offer five other stain finishes including Pitch-Dark Oak (CBM191), Deep Mahogany (CBM242), Brown Walnut (BKS431), Ebony Black (RAL9005) and Snowy White (RAL9001). Visit Content Organs UK Colours to get an idea of all these colours. https://www.promenademusic.co.uk/content-organ-coloursHigh Quality Built-in Console Amplification System
Our thoughts…. “At the heart of the organ is the incredibly high-quality Content six channel (2.2.2) digitally amplified multi-speaker amplification system. The system has 180 watts of digital amplifiers – dynamic power is 30 watts per channel – driving a total of 10 high-quality internal speakers. The amplification system has integrated 3D surround; and the General Volume and Reverb controls are adjustable, either by turning a simple rotary knob, or via the Personal Control Center [see below].2 Manuals
Our thoughts…. “Each manual has 5 octaves with touch sensitivity for MIDI and Extravoice. Extravoice is an ‘optional extra’ that needs to be specified when ordering an organ. Extravoice adds an extra 112 sounds – that are non classical organ – to the instrument including a large range of orchestral sounds, vintage drawbar sounds, pianos, bells, chimes, glock, harpsichord, accordions etc.

30 Note Radiating Concave Pedalboard

Unlike the standard European specification, in the UK we supply a Radiating Concave Pedalboard as standard. If preferred, a ‘European style’ straight parallel flat pedalboard can be supplied [at a lower cost].

Invention Technology
Each individual stop is based on specific samples that have been recorded and taken from famous pipe organs around the world. But things get better… through Content’s proprietary Invention Technology, you can switch simply [literally at the touch of a button] between four distinct voicing characters including (1) An ‘English Symphonic’ Organ Sound … think traditional English hymn playing and the repertoire heard on a Harrison & Harrison or Willis organ. (2) A ‘German Baroque’ Organ… think of the likes of the great North German Baroque builder Schnitger. (3) A ‘French Romantic’ Organ… think of a Cavaillé-Coll or a Clicquot organ. (4) A ‘Dutch Classic’ Organ… think of those organs built by family organ builders like Bätz and Witte). So to sum up, with Content’s Invention Technology, you have four fabulous digital organs in one instrument.

4 x 36 Speaking Stops
The organ has a total internal voice library of 144 built-in sounds. They are divided in to 36 for each voicing of the Invention Technology styles… i.e 36 English Symphonic, 36 German Baroque, 36 French Romantic and 36 Dutch Classic. For each organ style, there are 9 Pedal Stops, 12 Great Stops and 15 Swell Stops.

450 Programmable Presets
10 x 45 for each of the specications of stops.

Convolution Reverb
The Content convolution reverb offers a sampled reverb that holds all the idiosyncrasies of 10 selectable acoustical environments.

Personal Control Center
The incredibly easy to use Personal Control Center (aka PCC) is used to select and adjust the four individual samples per stop, and your personal preferences. Through the flexible PCC, you can control a multitude of functions including … Master Volume (1-16) … Divisional Volume … Memory Banks (1-45) … Tremulant Depth (depth and speed per division) … Expression Select (adjustable to a particular division or as a cresendo pedal) … Transposition (g,g#,a,a#,b,C,c#,d,d#,e,f) … Pitch / Fine Tuning (409-472 Hertz) … Chorus (0-15) general and per individual key … Reverb Volume (0-15) … Historical Temperaments (54) …  Monobass (programmable) … Manual Compass (adjudge to a particular division) … Bellows Stability (program and depth adjustable) … Line Input Control … Stop Settings inc Voicing Volume (general and per individual key); Wind noice (general and per individual key) … Contour (general and per individual key) … Fluctuation (general and per individual key) … Windchest … Save & Reset Menu … Playlist Menu (select per organ style) … Extravoice Menu (optional extra) … Volume Balance including Internal Organ (1-32); Internal Surround (1-32); Internal Reverberation (1-32);External Surround (1-32) and External Reverberation (1-32).

Programmable General Crescendo Pedal
The programmable crescendo pedal activates stops to make the organ louder (crescendo) as the pedal is pressed with the right toe; and deactivates stops to make the organ sound quieter as the pedal is pressed with the heel. Crescendo pedals were commonly found on larger 19th century German pipe organs and is normally the volume pedal that is the farthest to the right.

Virtual Player Position
It is possible to select your favorite acoustic recorded in various churches around the world. The Virtual Player Position (VPP) allows the organist to place themselves throughout the church.

Cantus Firmus

The Cantus Firmus (aka solo voice / melody coupler) couples the swell solo voice to the Great manual. The highest key played on the Great manual is coupled from the Swell stops to the Great manual so the solo is heard while playing only the Great manual. The Cantus Firmus is only used when you only want to hear the swell manual sound on the top note of what you are playing on the Great Manual. Therefore when using the Cantus Firmus, turn off the normal Swell-Great coupler.

Automatic Pedal Function
The Automatic Pedal function is ideal if the organist doesn’t want to (/ or can’t for some reason) play the pedals, but still wants to hear the pedal stops while only playing the manuals. When the The Automatic Pedal function button is engaged, the bottom note played on the Great manual is playing the stops selected in the Pedal division (like a monophonic coupler). It is ideal if an organist has a damaged foot; or if a pianist wants to play the organ and get the full sound of the bass without having to play the pedals.

54 Historical Temperaments
Various Temperaments, aka tuning systems, only occured because for centuries there was not a pitch standard across Europe. The modern tuning standard of a’ 440 [440Hz] was only proposed in the late 1930’s and wasn’t adopted and fully standardised until the mid 1950’s. Before then, The a’ note tuning could range from below 400Hz to above 450Hz across Europe; and a temperament could even vary within the same town. This is why we have Historical temperaments built in to the organ for pure authenticity of sound.

Wind Chest Function
It is also possible to assign a speaking stop to specific channels; and the stops can be configured in many ways (including C/C#) so a stop can move through a sequence of speakers.

Flexible Wind Supply Function
There is variation in wind supply in every traditional pipe organ through the pipe work. The bottom octaves of the open wood and diapason for example are more demanding on the wind supply. The Flexible wind supply allows the adjustment of the wind supply

Two (division adjustable) wooden expression pedals
