Gypsy Jazz Guitars

The Gypsy Jazz Guitar was made famous by the guitarist Django Reinhardt. Often referred to as Macaferri guitars, there are two styles: the D shape soundhole guitars (which is commonly used for rhythm playing) and the oval soundhole guitars (which is commonly used for lead playing). The Gypsy Jazz guitar began in the 1930's when classical guitarist Mario Maccaferri designed his patented D hole guitar which was made by the Selmer company. The tuning of these guitars are standard EADGBE.
