Kawai was founded in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1927 by Koichi Kawai (1886-1955) and it is now a fourth generation piano business having been previously run by Koichi’s son (Shigeru Kawai), his grandson [Hirotaka Kawai], and now by his great-grandson [Kentaro Kawai]. Promenade Music sells the Kawai GL Grand Piano Series (including the models: GL-10 . GL-30 . GL50) and Kawai GX Grand Piano Series (including the models: GX-1 . GX-2 . GX-3 . GX-5 . GX-6 .
