Clavia Nord began in 1983 in Stockholm, Sweden, initially with a drum machine. However, in 1995, Nord produced their Lead synthesizer, ground breaking as it had the warmth of analog, whilst using new technology, coining the term ‘virtual analog’. Since then, Nord have developed a range of synths and stage pianos that have become industry standard. Their distinctive red casing can be seen on stages all over the world. Watch any festivals on TV and count all the Nords you see – you’ll be amazed how popular these are with gigging and studio musicians, but once you’ve played one, you’ll know why.
