Tenor & Baritone Acoustic Guitars

Promenade Music sell tenor and baritone acoustic guitars. The Tenor Guitar has 4 strings and is tuned in 5ths. The most common tunings are [low to high] G.D.A.E which is the same as a violin or mandolin – but an octave lower – and is often used for Irish and Celtic folk music, using the string gauges .042w / .030w / .020w / .013. You can also use the higher pitched [low to high] C.G.D.A tuning which is the same intervals as a tenor banjo or mandola and often used for jazz and tenor banjo music, using the string gauges .032w / .022w / .014 / .010. The Baritone Guitar has six strings and is tuned in the same intervals as a normal guitar. The notes begin with low B.E.A.D.F#.B, using the string gauges .013 / .020w / .030w / .042w.
