Leo Fender formed the Fender company in 1946. His first major triumph was the Telecaster (via the Esquire, Broadcaster and Nocaster) which was released in 1950 and quickly became popular and widely available. This was swiftly followed by his Precision Bass in 1951. Fender subsequently went on to design some of the most iconic and influential guitar and bass designs ever, such as the Stratocaster, Jazz Bass, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Mustang, Musicmaster and Duo Sonic. Fender’s range of amplifiers are also highly regarded with several defining the sound of our times.
