Gypsy Jazz Guitars

Gypsy Jazz Guitars were made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt. Today, the D-hole ‘Grande Bouche’ D-hole model is commonly used for rhythm playing and the ‘Petite Bouche’ O-hole for lead playing. The history of the ‘Grande Bouche’ (aka Big Mouth), originate from the Selmer-Maccaferri collaboration when Italian luthier Mario Maccaferri designed them and French company Henri Selmer built them from 1932-52. The collaboration ended in 1934 and by 1936, Selmer was making the ‘Modele Jazz’ aka ‘Petite Bouche’ / Small Mouth / O-hole / Oval-hole … Call 01524 410202 or email [email protected] for more information … Back to the Guitar Home Page.
