David Wood is an award-winning musician and businessman who has had a long and fruitful career – spending his entire working life – in the music, entertainment, technology, retail, intellectual property and manufacturing industries. Through over forty years of experience and a lifetime of study, David has accumulated an in-depth tacit and explicit knowledge of the industries he operates in and holds the post-nominal letters HonsFDip FRSA DipMusTh AMusLCM MIoD.
In 2022, David was honoured to accept an invitation to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Lancaster University. He is an incumbent Leader in Residence at the University of Central Lancashire’s award-winning ‘Faculty of Culture and the Creative Industries’; an Honorary Fellow of the Independent Contemporary Music Awards after been awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 1987; and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts after been awarded a FRSA Fellowship in 2012. He is a past recipient of a Musical Director Award in 1987 after he won a NODA ‘Musical Director of the Year’ award and also won a Business Award in 1997 after one of his businesses won a ‘Business of the Year’ category at the Business Link North Lancashire Business Awards.
