Leslie
The Leslie speaker is a specially constructed loudspeaker used to create a signature sound using the Doppler effect. Named after its inventor, Donald Leslie, it is particularly associated with the Hammond organ but is used with a variety of instruments as well as vocals to create an unusual, warm, vintage sound. The Hammond/Leslie combination has become an element in many genres of music. Currently both the Leslie Speakers and the Hammond Organ are owned by Suzuki Musical Instrument Corporation.
