About James Millman:

"I am an English Instrument Maker based in the Devon countryside. I predominantly make Acoustic Guitars in the traditional style but have also built Electric Guitars, Mandolins, Bass Guitars and Ukuleles. Everything is built from scratch using hand tools and minimal jigs. Wherever possible I am passionate about utilising local, native and reclaimed timbers. Both the materials and the methods of construction having as little impact on the environment as possible. All instruments are finished with a hand rubbed, organic oil finish and French polish.

With over 15 years experience working in a guitar shop, selling guitars, setting up guitars and fixing guitars, I developed a real feel and understanding of what makes a great instrument. I built my first guitar under the guidance of the fine fellows at Brook Guitars having previously studied Cabinet Making with world renowned Fine Furniture maker David Savage."
