New Fender Vintera II Series Electric Guitars & Basses for 2023 – and beyond!

Back in the summer of 2019, Fender premiered their new Vintera range, which combined the words Vintage and Era to bring us Vintera.

This MIM (Made in Mexico) range brought us high quality at a more affordable price than the USA-made models.

WIth Fender’s rich heritage – and given that they literally invented many of the aspects of the electric guitar that we all now take for granted – they have a lot of history behind them.

One kind of Fender or another has never gone out of fashion for well over 70 years.

As Fender‘s classic 50s, 60s and 70s periods continue to hold enrapture players old and young, the Vintera II continues to take inspiration from those periods, taking design and colour cues from those periods, without being specifically beholden to any one year in particular.

With guitars including the Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar and Mustang, there really is something for everyone in this range.

Bassists get the Precision, Jazz, Mustang, Telecaster Bass and the 6-string Bass VI. Pretty much all tastes are catered for.

The Mustang guitar and Mustang bass both feature the “competition stripe” that first appeared in 1969 – with Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones an early adopter of the bass model.

These Mustangs have also had their body contours reinstated (otherwise only the Ben Gibbard signature model had it on).

Between them, these are the guitars and basses you’ve heard all you life.

All the Vintera II models come with a deluxe gig bag.

FOREVER IN STYLE.
There’s no denying the charm of vintage instruments. For decades, players around the globe have been mesmerized by the charm, feel, and mojo of the early Fender creations from our “Golden” years – the 50s, 60s, 70s.
The refresh of the Vintera II Series offers players from across the globe a more accessible option to harness that same vintage vibe.

So, what’s the difference between the Vintera and the Vintera II models? Well, one noticeable difference is that the Pau Ferro fretboards have been replaced with Rosewood.

In general, the original Vintera series had some more modern appointments – for example, higher output pickups, whereas the Vintera II series has more period-correct pickups.
