The Yamaha YEP-201 is an excellent choice of euphonium for either younger players or for euph players when budget is a consideration. It is lighter weight than more advanced models making it easier to hold and play, but still features a big full sound, and easy response. The honed valves give a precise fit between valves and their casings which means minimal air leakage; and the pressure formed tubing is perfectly rounded which results in less turbulence and a smoother air flow which reduces resistance. The laser-fused pluzuma welded bell is done through a high-energy laser fuse process which results in a virtually seamless bell, allowing continuous even vibrations. The excellent intonation of this student euph helps foster a feel for correct pitch in beginning players and it’s a great choice for a players first instrument.
