The Adams Alpha Series Marimba is available in a choice of four rail colours and four resonator colours for an instrument that’s unique. The rails and end pieces are made of French oak and are available in the stain colours Graphite, Walnut, Whitewash and Espresso; and the lightweight aluminum resonators come in the durable powder-coated finishes of Midnight Black, Desert, Satin Gold, and Titanium Silver.
The Alpha Series is made in co-operation with KesselsGranger DesignWorks who have given the instrument high sweeping arc resonators, rich wood stain finish, and polished aluminum name plate which all merge seamlessly to form a visual statement of modern design. Each marimba features class leading note-bars that are made out premium Honduras rosewood, tuned with the inventive Alpha tuning technology.
The Adams Alpha marimba is the choice of Martin Grubinger, Ji Hye Jung, Christoph Sietzen, Svet Stoyanov, Simone Rubino, Alexej Gerassimez, (plus many more) and as a performer, the most important thing is the instrument’s sound – whether in a large concert hall or small studio – and the Alpha is always spot-on with a focus on articulation and projection. The high part of the keyboard delivers pinpoint accuracy and detailed insight into your music. The precision harmonic placement reduces distortion and boosts mid-range clarity. This innovative tuning technique also allows the Adams tuners to tune through an incredible sixth overtone in the bass part of the keyboard. This, combined with the construction of the Alpha woodwork and the frame, provides an unparalleled rigidity resulting in the most accurate and dynamic bass marimba sound you will find.
[Please note: Adams Musical Instruments have a mill with plantation to ensure sustainably and prevent unnecessary harvesting of Honduras rosewood. They are helping to protect the most beautiful wood in the world which will hopefully secure the future of tuned percussion instruments and respects the local community where the wood is grown. Every Adams instrument containing Honduras Rosewood has documentation to prove that Adams work according to the strict guidelines of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Adams have always worked in a sustainable way, with necessary documentation, even before this type of regulation was tightened up.]
